Parquet patterns are geometrical and often angular — squares, triangles, lozenges — but they may also contain curves. These are the most intricate and the most intriguing of the flooring patterns available. The term parquet (pronounced par-KAY) means “little park” in French. During the Renaissance, parquetry became popular as an economical replacement to heavy, marble flooring. These beautiful patterns were laid specifically under thrones and other seats of honor, in order to visually demarcate those areas. At present, parquet floors grace homes, offices, and even basketball courts. Make them a part of your clients castle.
